ABC was founded in 1954 at a time when aviation products liability coverage was in its infancy and not readily available on the open markets. Working together, sharing a common goal, a group of manufacturers, brokers, insurers, and a law firm developed a products liability insurance facility for the benefit of manufacturers in the aviation industry. ABC’s one-stop shop provides a focused program of industry leading coverage with a high limit of insurance, loss control, and claims handling in one facility.
For over 70 years, ABC has provided a continuously stable and resilient program providing broad aviation products liability insurance coverage. Many of the original companies still participate in the program providing unique continuity. This stability has allowed ABC to be at the forefront in the development of enhanced, innovative, and competitive coverage to serve the dynamic needs of the aviation and aerospace industry.
The ABC program provides the aviation broker community with a streamlined efficient facility for higher limits of liability for their aviation/aerospace clients.
ABC provides three coverage options:
Master Lineslip – Aviation Products and Grounding Liability (USD1BN Limit)
Participants in the program are able to secure coverage limits up to USD 1 billion from one panel of insurers using the expertise of the two leading aviation insurers.
U.S. Portal (Junior Lineslip) – Aviation Products and Grounding Liability (USD50M Limit)
This competitively-priced aircraft products insurance facility is ideally suited for manufacturers and products suppliers that may not otherwise be able to find lower coverage amounts.
Aviation Product Recall (USD20M Limit)
Designed for Tier 2, 3, and 4 suppliers. The policy is designed to fit exactly to aviation component part manufacturers contractual exposure.
What is novel about the ABC program is that there have been no other lineslips formed (at least in aviation and space) that can mirror the benefits the ABC has continually provided its customers (insureds). ABC brings the aviation industry together in a unique way to provide the broadest level of coverage and service to its insureds with no other program like it.
Many large insurers (10+) work collaboratively to provide a long term quality service and product. Further, large brokerage houses work together with midsized brokers to enhance the product they can bring to their clients. This collaboration provides an alternative product for risk managers/insureds to compare to the standard market. This keeps the aviation market one of the most competitive markets worldwide which can benefit the risk management community by keeping premiums in check.
