ABC was honored to recognize Martin Cox with the 2021 Walter Mather Award at the Annual Conference held September 12-14, 2021 in Scottsdale, Arizona. 

Annually presented as recognition and appreciation for service to ABC, the Walter Mather Award is currently sponsored by Price Forbes as the ABC coordinating broker.

Martin is an Underwriting Director with Global Aerospace Underwriting Managers in London and has over 44 years of experience in the aviation underwriting industry. Martin is a true market character and for over four decades has witnessed a lot of change in our market. Underwriting almost exclusively the manufacturers portfolio, he has seen names come and go such as B.F. Goodrich, McDonnell Douglas, Rockwell, and Sabreliner to name a few. 

He is passionate about the aviation business and is no happier than being on a business trip visiting clients and kicking tires. For nearly his entire career, Martin has been underwriting the Aircraft Builders Council program. He must be a contender for the most frequented member of the ABC conference and he celebrated with us at ABC’s 50 year anniversary celebration held at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. 

Martin has been invaluable to the Board of Trustees over the years, keeping the Board informed on market conditions, fronting insurer issues, and the financial condition of the program. Martin is a tremendous supporter of the ABC facility and we have appreciated his insights and dedication throughout the years.

We were delighted to present this award to Martin for his decades of service to the ABC.
